Upper Hunter Aboriginal HACC Service

Volunteers will aboriginal members of the Upper Hunter community who are frail aged members, with disabilities and their carers to maintain independent living with a view to helping them remain in their own homes for as long as they wish.

Shopping: Either assisting the client with shopping such as pushing the trolley, taking items off the shelf, putting items into cupboards, fridge, or just accompanying them to assist with mobility.

Transport: Taking clients to medical appointments, dentists, to pay bills, shopping, hairdresser or to visit a friend.

Home Visiting: To read the mail or book to clients, assist with completing forms, writing letters, or just to have a cuppa and provide some company for those that live alone.

Home Handyman:
Small household jobs that we all take for granted, changing a light globe or tap washer, putting out the garbage each week, etc.

Am I Eligible?

 To be eligible you should:
  • Identity as aboriginal, and
  • resides in the Muswellbrook, Singleton or Upper Hunter local government areas., and
  • not reside in a hospital, group home or residential care facilities, and
  • not be receiving care under a Community Aged Care Package , Service Access System or Attendant Care Program.

Outputs:

10,000 hours of social support per annum
