Newcastle / Lake Macqarie Dementia Respite (HACC)

This service provides a quality, flexible and responsive range of respite options for the carers of people who have dementia, or challenging behaviours.
Once the clients’ needs are identified a respite care plan will be developed which will allocate a fixed financial amount to a client for respite for a specified period, usually 6 or 12 months.

There is no guarantee that funds will be available for another respite package at the conclusion of each period.
The Care Co-ordinator will discuss with the carer the options for receiving the care. The carer may  choose, within the allocated resources, the days and times that respite occurs.
