The care can be provided in the care recipient home, by a host family or on a holiday or excursion. The care can be provided by a volunteer or a paid employee or contractor.Once the clients’ needs are identified a Respite Care Plan will be developed that will allocate a fixed financial amount to a client for respite for a specified period, usually 6 or 12 months. There is no guarantee that funds will be available for another respite package at the conclusion of each period. The Case manager will discuss with the carer the options for receiving the care.
