Upper Hunter Respite Care (HACC)

Respite Care provides respite to carers of people with a disability, aged to 65  years. This service involves volunteers who are specially recruited, trained and linked to families.

This respite service predominately provides care using a host family, however we can provide limited respite using trained carers and short trips away.

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible you should:
  • Be the Carer of a disabled person who is under 65 years,
  • not be living in a hospital, group home or residential care facility, and
  • not be receiving care under a Community Aged Care Package, Service Access System or Attendant Care Program, and
  • resides in the Dungog, Maitland, Muswellbrook, Singleton or Upper Hunter local government areas.

Output:

3,000 hours of Respite per annum.
